Home Cleaning Tips From Two Lamudi Online Housing Fair Webinars by MyProperty
A happy and healthy home starts with cleaning and tidying your space. Even before the pandemic hit, many homeowners take pride in cleaning and sanitizing every room and corner in their home. While can be tedious to keep your home constantly clean, doing so ensures your space is safe and conducive for living and leisure.
With cleanliness and disinfection becoming more important nowadays, many cleaning and organizing companies offer their services to help homeowners clear the disarray and cleanse away the harmful pathogens in their abodes. In Lamudi’s Online Housing Fair, Happy Helpers PH and World Of Yorokobi share their services, work processes, and cleaning tips in their respective webinar episodes. Learn these tips and tricks to help you maintain a clean, clutter-free, and safe home:
Use The KonMari Method
The KonMari method of tidying up became widely popular in 2019. This method aims to help homeowners organize their homes while also sparking joy with the items that they own.
To guide beginners into organizing like Marie Kondo, certified KonMari consultant and World of Yorokobi’s founder Renelyn Tan-Castillejos shares how to tidy up and reset your home into a relaxing haven through these five tips:
Commit Yourself To Tidy Up
Commitment and tidying go hand in hand. Sure, organizing everything can be tiring, but when you focus on your goals, the outcomes will benefit your home and your wellness.
Imagine Your Ideal Lifestyle
Think of what you specifically want for your space. What interior theme do you want? What kind of furniture and decor setup are you aiming for? Evaluating what you want your home to look like encourages you to stay committed to tidying up and achieving your lifestyle goals.
Finish Discarding First
Before you buy file and box organizers, it is important to sort your items on which to keep, sell, or throw away. Streamline your items first to make room for items you plan to keep. By finishing discarding first before organizing, you’ll realize you have extra storage space for old and new items. Plus, you’ll save money from buying bulky organizers that may still clutter your space.
Organize By Category, Not Location
The KonMari method uses these five categories to tidy up: clothes, books, papers, miscellaneous items, and sentimental objects. Follow this order of organization as it lets you start with the easiest to the hardest items to sort. Plus, organizing by category also equips you to focus on things that spark joy and which items you can let go of.
What Items Truly Spark Joy?
After streamlining all your items, ask yourself which of them truly sparks joy. Keep items that inspire creativity and wellness in your space, especially for your home office. Other items that don’t offer that delight can be sold or given to someone who wants them.
Deep Clean Like A Pro
Organizing your home may also involve a series of spring cleaning. You want your home to be in tip-top shape as much as possible. In the webinar episode by Happy Helpers PH, co-Founder and president Maan Sicam shares some tips and tricks on you you can deep clean your house with the three Ts:
Technique
Sicam said effective cleaning starts with tidying your home from top to bottom, then inside and outside. This technique allows you to collect all of the dirt down and outside. As a result, sweeping or mopping away all the dirt becomes easier. Plus, doing this technique also prevents any dust fall-outs from ruining your already cleaned floors or outer surfaces.
Three-step
For extra cleanliness, you’ll need the help of cleaning agents and homemade cleaners to strip away all the dirt. Sicam said that the easiest and most effective way to use cleaning solutions is to implement these three steps: spray, wipe, and dry. She also recommends color-coding your rags to know if they are for wiping or drying.
Tools
At Happy Helpers, Sicam said that they color-code their rags to each part of the house. By categorizing your basahan, you’ll avoid using the wrong rags on the wrong surfaces and contaminating your home with unknown pathogens. Sicam also mentioned that microfiber cloths are best as they wipe away every spec of dust and don’t leave any stains, especially on glass surfaces.
For cleaning solutions, Sicam said three cleaning agents you’ll need are bleach, wood cleaners, and detergent. Using the right products means you’ll keep your furnishings, floors, walls, and glass items clean and free from any damage. Other cleaning tools you’ll need are a broom, sponges, toilet brush, mop and bucket, and hard and soft brushes.
Sicam also noted that deep cleaning involves disinfecting high-touch surfaces such as switches, doorknobs, and handrails. After spring cleaning your home, don’t forget to also clean and disinfect your cleaning supplies to prevent any leftover bacteria or virus from multiplying.
With the pandemic still looming, it is important to keep your home clean and tidy to promote wellness and productivity. Watch these two webinar episodes and use their tips to tidy and deep-clean your condo unit or house.
